Chinese J-V To Build Hotel At Havana Marina
China’s Suntime International Techno-Economic Cooperation (Group) Co. Ltd., together with Grupo Cubanacán, will build a 600-room hotel at Marina Hemingway in the western suburbs of Havana, reports Reuters. Suntime, with a 49% stake in the venture, will provide $150 million in financing. Chinese state entity CITIC Construction will build the hotel beginning next month.
In 2003, Cubanacán partnered with Suntime to build a 700-room property in Shanghai. That hotel, in the upscale Pudong district, is managed by Spanish hotel operator Sol Meliá.
